Nub Cameroon

Cigar Reviews

Nub Cameroon

BnB Price: About $5 a stick

Review by Ken York

The Nub Cameroon 460 Cigars are Nicaraguan through and through. Nub’s goal is to capture and deliver the true essence of a cigar throughout the entire cigar smoking experience. Unlike other cigars that build in flavor as you smoke them, Nubs go for the win right out of the gate. And it delivers.  Make sure you warm the cigar with a lighter or match prior to taking your first draw. Wham! When you take that first puff you’re already in the middle of a great smoke.

The cigar is well made with only minor veins spotted on the wrapper. The feel is solid. The band is simple and refined. I detected oak and cherry flavor hints in this cigar. It’s hard to compare a Nub to a normal cigar that builds throughout the smoke.  The Nub is intense from the beginning with even more intense flavor towards the end. These cigars are noted for knocking periodic cigar smokers on their ass. As I was smoking it, I noticed how perfect the ash was and I started wondering when it would fall off. It didn’t.

As you can see the ash stayed on for well over half the cigar

CIGAR LORE: It’s never been proven, but it’s rumored that Clarence Darrow, the great lawyer famous for his defense during the Scopes Monkey Trial – can you teach evolution in a public school – was famous for distracting the jury by smoking a cigar with a thin wire in it that allowed him to keep his cigar ash on the cigar. As the prosecutor would talk the jury would note the length of the cigar ash, wondering when it would fall off the cigar. Mr. Darrow would not need the wire from my experience with the Nub.
