This machine is a total design joke. Who ever tried to copy the previous Top o matic with handle failed at all possible critical places.
The tobacco does not pack properly because the new cast tamper is much thicker than the old stainless steel one and hence packs the tobacco too much since they did not adjust the final volume to compensate.
The spoon does not have enough travel distance to pack tobacco to the filter since that was designed wrong also.
The cigarette will always not fill to the end since they designed the length of travel incorrectly and the flat blunt end where the metal part connects to the cheap plastic hammers the cigarette out to leave this space by poor design. If you move the cigarette out to compensate for this then it leaves even a bigger void near the filter regardless of how much you fiddle with the rubber that grabs the cigarette or bend the metal.
As with the other Top o Matics the spring does not return the crank to its fully open location so you must do this manually which I can deal with BUT why is this such a hard thing to do properly?
I love my older Top o matic with handle and it still works after about 200,000 cigarettes(return spring breaks about every 6 months but that is an easy fix) so I made the fatal mistake of buying a T2 thinking it would be a great machine also for when my older Top o Matic finally died. I was totally wrong. This is a prime example of trying to make something cheaper and failing so badly that the new product is essentially useless.
It cannot be adjusted, rigged to work better or replaced with another T2---they are all junk!!! I will not waste postage plus time plus the extra money they want to send it back repaired or replaced because I know this machine will never work well until they fix all the design errors this machine has.
All the people who say it works fine must have never used a good machine before like the Top o Matic with the handle which preceded this piece of junk.
Do yourself a favor and never never buy this machine until the company admits they made a bad machine and offers to replace them with a new T3 model which is built and designed just like the old Top o matic was and not like this machine which is totally designed wrong.

I am a very experienced cigarette roller having produced about 500,000 smokes using the original Top Top-O-Matic machine.The original Top Top-O-Matic is the best machine I have ever used. The Top T2 model is by far the worst one! [*]. After using a T2 for less than 2 weeks it would not produce a decent cigarette at all. My T2 went in the trash and I went back to my good old Top-O-Matic.I have spoken to several other people who also owned the T2 and every single one of them was very disappointed in the T2 just like I was. So it wasn't just a matter of me getting a bad apple. Every T2 is a bad apple in my opinion.The only good thing I could possibly say about the T2 is that it looks cool. If you wish to make a great smoke avoid the T2 like the plague and go with the original Top Top-O-Matic. I'd even suggest buying an extra one since Top has stopped producing the original model I believe. Or buy the extra parts so you can repair it.

The T-2 machine I use works well, but not near as smooth as the regular Top-O-Matic machine. It seems durable, but need to stay on the oiling and maintenance. I am kind of bummed out about the overall performance of the T-2. I am going to put it away and continue to use the regular Top-O-Matic machine, which I feel is the better of the two machines.

The secret to using the TopOMatic machines...all of them...is to use PIPE tobacco; not CIGARETTE tobacco! The pipe tobacco is a longer cut and doesn't jam the machine like the finer cut cigarette tobacco does. True about oiling it...and cleaning it, but the biggest thing on the "jams" is the tobacco used. The pipe tobacco doesn't taste any different than the cigarette does...the only difference is in the length of the cut. The PAPER determines regular or light; not the tobacco

my first machine made 6000 ciggs before went bad , after doing a lot of changing of parts ,, FOUND OUT the tamper had black coating on it from tobaco , Tamper was the problem all the while - Tamper ( part T2010 ) must have a mirror finish on it or tobaco will not slide , 16 buck + so order a couple to save on ship . JIM PS otherwise no complants .
