While it is the same size as the Cigar Oasis XL, the basic difference is in the change of airflow and water cartridge to allow the unit to pick up more moisture and provide more rapid humidificiation for larger humidors, chests and end table humidors. It comes standard with a large water cartridge, which uses foam to estimate wicking and water splashing around. The manufacturers recommend that this unit be used with the AC Power adapter since it will run more frequently in larger humidors. The Cigar Oasis Ultra electronic cigar humidifier was designed to mount on the lid of the humidor with minimum space requirements. It has two modes of control. When used with battery power, it works until the desired humidity is reached. The unit essentially goes to sleep once the humidity level is reached and will sample the humidity every 5 min. When operating on line power, it samples the humidity continuously. In both cases, the control point is set to 70% humidity. The unit comes with a sealed water cartridge mounted and ready to use.

The unique Cigar Oasis XL is a small electronic humidifier that is fully automatic. Just plug it in using a paper this power cord that fits between the hinges on the back of the humidor, or connect the optional battery pack and it's ready to go. The integral hygrometer displays the humidity in the humidor and it is also used to set the controls point which is factory set at 70%RH. This can be adjusted. The unit comes with a refillable, replaceable water cartridge that uses distilled water only. It has a built in system that monitors the humidity and uses a quiet fan to filter and circulate air in the humidor.
