Arturo Fuente Hemingway Signature

Cigar Reviews

Arturo Fuente Hemingway Signature
BnB Price: About $7 a stick
Review by Ken York

The Arturo Fuente Hemingway Signature is a great smoke. It’s also fun because it’s a Figurado, which has a pointy foot (the part you light) and a rounded head. And yes, I have seen a person lighting and smoking from the wrong end. This is an overall great smoke using Dominican tobacco with a Cameroon wrapper.  It’s excellently made, and with the minor challenge of inhaling the first couple of puffs through the reduced size foot, it smokes outstandingly. The feel is solid, aroma top notch, and the ash is white and solid.  It’s hard to ask for much more than that in any cigar.

When smoking this classic you can get a taste of cedar and some earthy notes. Even after you exhale you are left with a pleasant, lingering taste that allows you to enjoy this cigar well beyond the actual puffing.  The cigar’s spices grow as you smoke. It doesn’t wow you with complex notes, but this is a very enjoyable cigar from start to finish. Named after Ernest Hemingway, this cigar assists in your escape to far-away lands. It’s great to sit, smoke, and drink as a means of conjuring up the plot of your next novel. At my poker games this cigar is always a top favorite.

The Hemingway Signature pairs admirably with Macallan Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch from the Speyside region of Scotland. The cigar’s taste works well with the scotch’s hints of burnt caramel, and roasted nuts.  This whisky is full palate and requires a medium to full bodied cigar to complement.
