Fruity, Cool, or Natural Hemp Cigarettes?

Wild Hemp Cigarettes

Looking for a new way to experience CBD and other compounds taken from the hemp plant?  Well, you might want to check out BnB Tobacco’s collection of hemp cigarettes.  Hemp cigarettes provide the pure hemp plant that is as unprocessed as possible, while coming in the convenient form of a cigarette that’s easy to smoke while being discreet.

There are all kinds of hemp cigarettes on the market nowadays as this specific type of product is proving to be quite popular with CBD enthusiasts.  They can be found on our site even, in a wide array of flavors, including ones that offer notes of fresh fruits, ones that cool the palate with icy menthol, and some that simply taste like the hemp plant in its natural form.

Let’s take a closer look at hemp cigarettes and discuss the flavors in which you can find them, as well as getting into the various reasons why this type of product is so unique and worth exploring.

What are Hemp Cigarettes?

Hemp cigarettes look and feel exactly like the conventional cigarettes that we are all used to, but with one major difference: instead of tobacco, they contain ground up hemp flower.  These are completely tobacco-free, nicotine-free cigarettes that only offer pure hemp flower without any fillers whatsoever.  The flowering buds of the female hemp plant are famously rich in cannabinoids, terpenes, and other desirable compounds, and it’s from these flowers that we produce the hemp extracts which go into tinctures, edibles and more.

How are Hemp Cigarettes Made?

Hemp cigarettes naturally begin with the industrial hemp plant, which is grown throughout the United States as it’s a native crop.  Companies work closely with experienced hemp farmers who grow their hemp organically so that it can be pesticide-free and high in its content of cannabinoids and terpenes.  The flowering buds are picked at peak maturity, after which they undergo a curing process that is done using natural methods in order to preserve the flower so that it can be stored for months at a time without losing its rich chemical composition or taking on mold.

The hemp flower is then ground up and rolled into papers.  The grind must be small enough to burn evenly, but not so fine that it burns instantly.  The papers should ideally be free of chemicals so that the body is only inhaling compounds that agree with the body.  From there, a company may choose to add a filter to better mimic cigarettes while offering a smoother smoke.

Are Hemp Cigarettes Legal?

Hemp cigarettes are legal under federal law.  The 2018 Farm Bill legalized hemp in its entirety, including individual derivatives such as specific cannabinoids.  The law states that all hemp goods are legal in the United States as long as they contain no more than 0.3% THC, with which all hemp products on the market currently comply.  In nature, the hemp plant typically only produces this trace amount of THC, but companies do have their hemp tested just to be completely sure.

Now, some states have made smokable hemp products illegal, and if you live in one of those states, you cannot purchase hemp cigarettes, either in person or online.  It’s good to check with your state’s laws on hemp to make sure that you are following them, as these laws are prone to changing suddenly.

Which Strains are Used to Make Hemp Cigarettes?

One of the beautiful things about smoking the raw hemp plant is that we have a better selection of strains from which to choose.  The strain of the hemp plant refers to its breed, and indicates the unique chemical composition, largely focusing on its terpenes rather than its cannabinoids.  Each strain has a distinctive terpene profile, and many overlook the role that terpenes play in producing specific effects of hemp.  For instance, some terpenes are more associated with calming effects, while others may offer effects that lift the mood.

What are the Strains that are Found in Hemp cigarettes?

Well, that’s up to the company, as today’s hemp cigarette market offers many unique strains that are available for purchase.  Another interesting thing to note about strains is that they have distinctive flavor profiles.  Why?  Because it is the terpenes in hemp that determine the flavor and aroma of the particular strain.  Therefore, some strains have a bold fruity taste while others are sweet and spicy, and so on.  It is all about the terpenes and how they are arranged to create a distinctive flavor profile.

Flavored or Unflavored Hemp Cigarettes: Choice is Yours

The hemp cigarette market is growing rapidly, and more and more companies are offering their unique take on this idea to hemp-loving customers.  Some companies are infusing their hemp with flavor to allow each puff to satisfy the taste buds in a whole new way.

Let’s look at the three main types of flavor categories you can find when shopping for hemp cigarettes.

  • Fruity: Fruity hemp cigarettes can get their flavoring from the terpenes in hemp, as some terpenes have strong fruity notes, or they can contain fruit extracts that intensify the fruity taste.
  • Cool: Contains menthol crystals for a cooling effect on the inhale and the exhale.
  • Natural: The natural taste of hemp is appealing to many, which is why a lot of hemp cigarette users opt for unflavored. The hemp’s terpenes, as previously mentioned, produce a distinctive flavor profile that is rich and bold all on its own.
