Oliva’s history dates back to pre-Cuban War of Independence when Melanio Oliva started growing his own tobacco in 1886. The company is still family owned and operated and in the 1960’s moved to the beautiful country of Nicaragua. Since then, they have had several lines and highly rated cigars; with the Serie V Melanio receiving a 96 point rating and being named #1 Cigar of 2014 by Cigar Aficionado.
Oliva Serie V Melanio natural cigars are full-bodied flavor and aroma in a smoke that's surprisingly smooth. The different sizes enhance that tradition by kicking the strength up just a notch. Its smaller head provides an excellent shape to savor notes of espresso and dark chocolate. It’s no surprise that this cigar was named the #1 Cigar of 2014 by Cigar Aficionado with a 96 point rating.
