Thin or Thick Blunt Wraps?

Blunt Wraps

Are you looking for a new way to enjoy your tobacco?  If so, you might want to give blunt wraps a try.  More and more people find that rolling their tobacco in a blunt wrap creates a stronger buzz while offering a smoother and more flavorful smoke.

However, as you may know, not all blunt wraps are created equally.  The market is full of them and choosing the right one is critical if you want to have the most satisfying experience possible.  One of the most crucial factors to consider is the thickness.

But first, let’s look more closely at what blunt wraps are and what they can offer tobacco smokers.

What is a Blunt Wrap?

First, let’s discuss what, exactly, a blunt wrap is, for those who don’t know.  A blunt wrap is a term used to describe the wrapper of a cigar.  As you know, cigars are wrapped in a tobacco leaf that has been cured, and this tobacco leaf is brown in color, and heavily aromatic.  It also contains nicotine, being a part of the tobacco plant.

When applied to rolling tobacco, a blunt wrap is the result of slicing open the cigar and allowing the loose tobacco to fall out, so that you end up with a tobacco leaf that resembles a sheet.  From there, you place your tobacco in the center and roll it up.

Why Do People Use Blunt Wraps When Rolling Tobacco?

So, what’s the appeal of using blunt wraps for rolling tobacco?  Traditionally, tobacco is rolled in rolling papers, which are thin, usually white sheets of paper derived from one of many types of materials, ranging from wood pulp to bamboo.  These papers are fine, but some people are attracted to the idea of rolling tobacco in a tobacco leaf, to intensify the tobacco experience.  At the same time, using a blunt wrap provides a more flavorful and aromatic smoke, as the tobacco leaf adds to the flavor profile of the rolling tobacco.

Different Kinds of Blunt Wraps

There are many different kinds of blunt wraps out there, so let’s break down the key ways in which they can differ from each other.

#1: Size

Size is definitely a factor here, as we know that cigars come in all shapes and sizes.  The cigar you choose to derive your blunt wrap from will determine the size of the blunt wrap that you end up with.  Obviously, larger cigars will give you larger blunt wraps, which means that you’ll need more tobacco to fill them.

#2: Flavor

Blunt wraps have different flavors as well.  Each tobacco leaf will have its own unique flavor notes that are natural to the tobacco plant.  Beyond that, some companies create flavored blunts, in which the wrapper is flavored.

#3: Thickness

Now, we come to the thickness level, which is what you need to pay the closest attention to.  That’s because the thickness of the blunt wrap has a lot to do with how well you can roll tobacco in it.

Thick or Thin Blunt Wraps: Which is Ideal for Tobacco?

So, should you opt for a thick or thin blunt wrap when rolling tobacco?  It all depends.  A thicker leaf will give you more flavor, as well as more nicotine.  But a super thick leaf may be trickier to roll, and may crack as you roll it as the thickness can’t support the bending motion you’re using to roll your tobacco.

A thin leaf will have less impact on the flavor and nicotine level but will likely be easier to roll tightly.  Too thin though, and it can split during the rolling process.

So, which is ideal?  Well, there’s no objective answer.  The key is trying out a variety of blunt wraps to get a feel for how different thickness levels impact both your rolling experience and your smoking experience.

Ultimately, whether you should opt for a thick or thin blunt wrap depends on your preferences as well as the amount of tobacco you wish to consume.  We recommend experimenting with various options to figure out which one best fits your needs.
